Our Greatest Asset

Yesterday was my former boss’ last day as she is moving on to a new position outside of our company. She took the time to speak her team members individually and pass on some kind parting words. She decided to highlight my eagerness to get things done and positive attitude as my greatest assets.

Yesterday I also learned I may have a back-up career plan because apparently, I might be a phenomenal actress?

Why I Love What I Do
Occasionally, when having a bad day or if I worked strange hours due to travel, my boss lets me work from home or take a sick day. But, 90% of the time I decline and come into the office. This is not because I put my work above family or myself.

Work actually calms me. It’s why I love what I do.

The time flies when I am designing or editing in an Adobe Creative Program. I feel accomplished when I run a report and send off a spreadsheet. And I forget about anything else going on when I am studying a product or solution for future marketing materials.

My eagerness and positive attitude when things need to get done may not be my greatest asset. My greatest asset…The greatest thing I ever did was pursue something I am passionate about.

“Pick a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life.”

The inspiration behind this Monday’s post comes after I spilled hot coffee on my new dress and backpack when I arrived to work. After cursing and using my tide to-go stick, all I wanted to do was dive into my first project. After an hour, I was back to my happy-go-lucky self.
